The SPRING Conference is scheduled for Thursday, March 26, 2009 at the Howard County Public Safety Training Center. The Theme is "Common Sense Approach to Injury Prevention in the Workplace".
"Work Shouldn't be a Pain in the Back or the Neck"
The morning session will concentrate on "identification of ergonomic problems and symptoms.

Early registration is encouraged as attendance will be limited due to the interactive breakout sessions.
Who Should Attend?
Maintenance, public works, parks and grounds, police/fire, code enforcement, office/clerical workers, supervisors and others who work in environments or use equipment that requires manual or continuous use, has frequent or awkward body positioning or has continuing incidents of employee complaints of muscular pain. Examples would be use of power and manual tools, landscaping equipment, refuse and recycling collection, computers in vehicles or related work in closed and tight spaces.

2008 Winter PESA Conference at Watkins Nature Center, Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
Thanks to Dr. Mike Lyons, State Medical Director of Concentra Medical Advisory Services who provided a presentation on Community Associated MRSA and Dr. Edwin Becraft, Director of Medical Services for the Maryland State Highway Administration who provided a presentation on Lyme Disease. Both presentations were very informative, well organized and both doctors very knowledgeable about the subjects.
Other topics included: MOSH update, Personal Protective Equipment, Safeware & Pesticides from the Maryland Department of Agriculture. In addition, the facility featured live animal displays which provided attendees the opportunity to view native owls, hawks, reptiles, amphibians during break sessions.
